Former 2NE1 member Minzy may finally be making her solo debut soon. Reports suggest that Minzy may release her album after she wraps up "Unnies Slam Dunk" Season 2.

Minzy delayed her plans to debut as a solo artist in order to make time to participate in "Unnies Slam Dunk" Season 2, Koreaboo reported.  The reality show is Minzy's first activity after her departure from 2NE1 last year. Instead of working on "Unnies Slam Dunk" and her solo album simultaneously, Minzy decided to postpone the latter as she wants to focus on one project at a time.

The former idol group member has reportedly been busy working on her highly awaited solo material, which her new agency, Music Works, has been teasing about since last year. According to Soompi, Minzy was supposed to release her solo album in November last year. However, she chose to extend the time for preparations so that she can look into different songs and various album concepts.

Meanwhile, Minzy is among the seven female cast members of "Unnies Slam Dunk" Season 2. She will appear alongside Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Hang Chae Young, and Kang Ye Won, to name a few. In the new season, the cast will focus on the "Girl Group Project" started by Min Hyo Rin in the first season. According to the show's production team, the "Girl Group Project" will be featured as one of the dreams, but the cast will still take on individual dreams and aspirations to present on stage.

Minzy said she decided to join the show because it would be fun and special to appear alongside her co-stars and that she feels a certain level of synergy with them. "It's an honor to be in a variety show with them," Minzy explained.
