DC's upcoming beat-'em-up "Injustice 2" has been adding characters to its roster and the latest will be shrieking blonde dynamo, Black Canary, scheduled for a reveal on Feb. 7. However, latest reports reveal that the character's release date will be pushed back until next week.
According to the official Twitter page of "Injustice 2," NetherRealm Studios broke the news by saying, ""Hello! The character reveal will happen next week on Feb. 13. We apologize for any confusion this has caused!"
There hasn't been any actual announcement on the latest addition in the "Injustice 2" roster. Just recently however, the website was updated from its original Feb. 7 release to the current Feb. 13 release, reports Attack of the Fanboy. While it's no longer a surprise on who the character will be, players hope that it's worth the wait for this one.
"Injustice 2" has been featured numerous times this month, with the latest gameplay video featuring Black Canary squaring off against Superman, Batman, Deadshot, and Blue Beetle. NetherRealms Studio was also shown to walk its viewers through the newest character's gameplay as well. But so far, Black Canary seems like a promising character.
"Injustice 2" will be released on May 16 and it continues off where the first game "Injustice: Gods among Us" left off. It's been five years after Superman the dictatorial High Councilor was defeated and Batman and his insurgency strive to repair the remaining society together while struggling against the remnants of Superman's regime who seek to restore his rule. In addition to that, a rising shady new faction, "The Society," has been rumored to make plans of dominating the world, destroying anyone would hinder them. It's up to Batman to gather up his forces, either victims or collaborators of Superman's regime, to thwart these antagonizing forces by forming a new team of superheroes. To make matters worse, the evil robotic Brainiac is also set on invading Earth, endangering all life as we know it.
