There are many different ways in which the movies may borrow certain details and notions from others. Many a times we do not notice such similarities simply because of the fact that the genres and the themes of the movies are different but even in such cases there are ample number of similarities that can be found. 'The Dark Knight' and 'Heat' are some very different movies but some recent analysis has revealed that there are many ways in which the DC superhero movie borrowed instances from the crime drama. This article mentions many of the similarities noticed in the two movies.
According to information from IMDb, "Heat" was an epic crime movie of 1995 which inspired "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan to help him in the creation of his masterpiece. Takedown" and "The Insider and Collateral."
The Hollywood Reporter further explains that the first part that we see in common is the opening heist scene in which the Joker is seen to steal from the mob and the scene also features "Heat" star, William Fichtner. The escape scene from both the movies along with the discussion after a police inspection is similar because it switches from a frame that shows the joker escaping to the police meeting through a screen.
The scene which shows the escape of the joker who tackles the traffic on the busy streets and collides the with big truck, followed by the frame shifting to the skyscrapers that allows the escape trucks and cars to their secret hideout, is similar to the escape plan in the "heat". The fight scene in both the movies that takes place in an office during the night is similar because of the identical glass shattering and gun fights. The conversations and confronting between the actors also look similar in terms of camera angle and intensity.
The intense fights that take place at a club between the main characters, the deals between them, helicopter chase scenes, the close-up on the protagonists standing on skyscrapers and the dramatic advices given by Morgan Freeman to Batman in a room full of screens are just a few other similarities in both the movies.
