Marvel Studios leader Kevin Feige has addressed a minor villain controversy in MCU films. He said that moving forward "Infinity War" will focus on a villain for once.

Feige said that he agrees with the observation of some fans regarding the issue. Critics and fans have remained divided over the years regarding Marvel's use of its iconic comic book villains in the movies, Screen Rant reported. Most critics say that the only weakness in the studio's film is the lack of focus on its villains.

"Well, I mean, it always varies, but it always starts with what serves the story the most and what serves the hero the most. We've been criticized, if a big criticism of ours is that we focus on the heroes more than the villains, I think that's probably true," he said.

However, Feige said that such case will not always be true and added that Marvel is addressing that very same criticism in "Avengers: Infinity War" by having Thanos as its main character, Slash Film reported.

"Thanos in Infinity War is, you know, in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and that's a bit of a, that's a bit of a departure from what we've done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called Infinity War."

Many comic book fans credit Marvel's rise to prominence in both the comic book and the movie scene to the popularity of its heroes. However, given the strong resurgence of iconic villains on its counterpart DC, fans can't help but ask Marvel if they are going to introduce developed villains that could tone down the internal conflict among heroes on its movies.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is slated for release on May 4, 2018.
