Korean actress Kyung Soo Jin had the opportunity to reflect on her career while playing as a rhythmic gymnast on MBC's "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." In fact, the challenge to portray the role has driven her to improve her acting.

The 29-year-old actress revealed she has to undergo intense training to play as Song Shi Ho in the drama series. According to The Chosun Ilbo, Kyung Soo Jin lived like a real rhythmic gymnast for over six months to prepare for the role.

"I walked for three hours every morning, and for another three to four hours in the evening. I even developed [a] six-pack abs," she said.

Through her character, Kyung Soo Jin said she would like to convey that "rhythmic gymnastics is not all about glamour." Hence, the actress tried her best to deliver the character well despite the difficulties.

"Actors are supposed to represent someone else's life, and become the character. I wanted to do it properly. Once shooting started, there was no time to rehearse, so the preparation process was indispensable," Kyung Soo Jin added.

She shared working with real rhythmic gymnasts in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" made her ask herself if she has given her best as an actress. Hence, the actress has come to realize that she has to grow as an artist rather than settle for what she is capable of doing right now.

Previously, Kyung Soo Jin said she is proud of her recent drama despite ending with low ratings. Soompi cited the actress thought leaving an impression is an important factor for a drama to be successful.

She is also grateful to have work with co-actors Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." Just like Kyung Soo Jin, the two stars also had to go through intense trainings for playing as weightlifter and swimmer, respectively.
