Jung Joon Young is ready to leave the past behind as he is set to release his first ever studio album, titled "The First Person" on Tuesday. In fact, the singer-songwriter shared his thoughts about the sexual assault controversy.

Last year, Jung Joon Young was mired in storm after he was accused of allegedly harassing his ex-partner. The idol was even forced to leave "2 Days & 1 Night" amid controversy.

However, he was cleared of the sexual assault accusations after formal investigations and withdrawal of the charges. Despite what happened, Jung Joon Young revealed he stayed optimistic in facing the issue.

"I didn't worry about what people were saying. I thought that there would eventually be a turning point and tried to stay positive," he told Ceci magazine as per Soompi.

Jung Joon Young continued, "It was a little frustrating, but I wasn't angry. I had a lot of encouragement from the people around me. I didn't want to talk about it since it was all in the past."

The idol, however, admitted that he feels sorry to his family and fans for going on a hiatus amid the controversy. Nonetheless, Jung Joong Young added he is just happy that everything has been cleared out.

Allkpop cited the 27-year-old singer-songwriter spent about two months in Paris to prepare for his new music. Aside from that, Jung Joong Young also enjoyed some free time in the country.

Ahead of his music comeback on Feb. 7, the idol released the official track list of his upcoming album "The First Person" with title song "You and I." The full length album features a total of nine songs personally written and composed by Jung Joon Young.

Aside from his new music, the idol is also happy to be back on "2 Days & 1 Night."
