Funcom Community Manager Jens Erik Vaaler recently talked about what to expect for the upcoming open world game "Conan Exiles." The survival game will use Denuvo to fight piracy and Battle Eye to police cheating measures.

According to Vaaler, they are developing a widespread standard solution to stop cheating and piracy to protect the time, effort, and talent invested in the game, Dual Shockers reported. They are also fixing network issues that surfaced during the livestream last week. Vaaler said that they were able to address these issues.

Funcom is also focused on developing combat and AI, which they constantly work on. Vaaler said they know the problems that are in these aspects of the game and they are working hard to fix and improve these features.

Just last week, a new trailer was released for "Conan Exiles" and of course the cinematic has better graphics compared to the gameplay, especially the earlier ones, Forbes reported. Meanwhile another trailer shows how the actual gameplay works, which looks like "Skyrim" and "Dragon Quest Builders" had a child.

When it comes to the battles, there will still be fatalities, but players won't be locked into animations like what happened with Age of Conan. Players can choose to trigger the fatality by cutting off someone's limbs or head. Blood platter has also been scaled back.

The 50 minute footage shows the game's lore and vast open world. The story of "Conan Exiles" revolves between the classic "The Slithering Shadow" and "A Witch Shall Be Born," which are both written by Robert E. Howard. The game lets the players create their own exile who Conan will save in the early part of the game.

This may come as a surprise to most that they will play a Conan game without using the main character who is Conan. The 50 minute gameplay video shows the player's character exploring various environments including dunes, tropical regions and ruins as they engage in bloody battles and discover backstories.

"Conan Exiles" will have Steam Early Access launch on Jan. 31. After which there will be additional information released for the Xbox One version premier. The Xbox One version is expected for a spring release.
