"Shovel Knight" was an indie game released back in 2014 on Wii U, 3DS, and PC by Yacht Club Games and it was later released to other platforms like PS4 and Xbox One. Now, we hear reports that the game will be released soon for the Nintendo Switch along with its upcoming DLC "Spectre of Torment."

"Shovel Knight" may have had close connections with Nintendo, even its own amiibo figure. It's no surprise that it'll be one of the first games to be released in the recently released Nintendo Switch, along with the game's DLC, "Spectre of Torment." Other than "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment" will be coming in that first month.

According to the official Nintendo website, "Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment" will be slated to release in March 2017 for the Nintendo Switch. Like many of the games released for the Nintendo Switch, there doesn't seem to have a specific release date except for the month that it will be released.

While we have yet to hear official announcements from Yacht Club Games themselves, this is particularly good news, especially fans of the genre and the game itself. Their news would probably come before PAX South would end this coming weekend.

Those who don't know what "Shovel Knight" is, here's an official game description from Yacht Club Games itself:

"'Shovel Knight' is a sweeping classic action adventure game with awesome gameplay, memorable characters, and an 8-bit retro aesthetic created by Yacht Club Games. You play as the eponymous Shovel Knight, a small knight with a huge quest. Shovel Knight has come to this valley with two goals: to defeat the evil Enchantress and save his lost beloved. He wields a ShovelBlade; a multipurpose weapon whose techniques have now been lost to the ages. Always honest and helpful, Shovel Knight is a shining example of the code of Shovelry: Slash Mercilessly and Dig Tirelessly!

However, between Shovel Knight and his beloved stands a cadre of villainous knights. These terrible foes, known as The Order of No Quarter, have been dispatched to prevent Shovel Knight from reaching the Enchantress at any cost!"

The game itself has three DLCs to date and "Spectre of Torment" is the third one. For those who want to purchase "Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment" for the Nintendo Switch individually, it will be at the price of $9.99, but those who want the entire bulk of the base game along with the DLCs, they purchase "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove" for $24.99 when it releases.
