'Overwatch' Chinese New Year celebration has just started; Blizzard added tons of new in-game contents

The Lunar New Year event of "Overwatch" online has just started and will be available until the second week of February. Blizzard announced the all the features included in the event as part of the Chinese New Year.

It is now the Year of the Rooster and Blizzard has just brought the celebration to every player of the "Overwatch" online. According to GameSpot, "Overwatch" Year of the Rooster event is now live and available to play.

Capture the Rooster is the main feature of the new "Overwatch" event, as the new game mode was derived from the traditional capture the flag. Players will take their skill in the new revised version of the Lijiang Tower, where the new Capture the Rooster will be played exclusively. Players will need to use their speed to capture the rooster and needs to do whatever it takes to defend and protect it.

The Polygon revealed some of the features of the new "Overwatch" New Year event. Aside from the new game mode, capture the rooster, there are also tons of cosmetics added to the game. New spray, voice lines and several emoticons are added to the content.

Apart from these, new player skins are also included in the event. "Overwatch" Chinese New Year theme will not only be seen in the surroundings, but also in the player skins. A Journey to the West-themed skins are also part of the event such as the Zenyatta, Winston and Roadhog skins.

Blizzard is not done yet, the standard loot boxes was also revamped, providing new items in a Chinese New Year theme. Since the "Overwatch" Chinese New Year event will only last until the 14th of February, some of the items will only be limited to use until the 13th of the same month.

Blizzard has just released the "Overwatch" Chinese New Year event trailer prior to the event's launch. The video shows the Capture the Rooster mode in action. Though the new game mode doesn't feature a massive shooting battle, still, capture the flag game experience is sure to be a fun game to play with.
