Set to be released in 2017, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is directed by D.J. Caruso and written by F. Scott Frazier, Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato based on the characters created by Rich Wilkes. It features "Fast & Furious" star Vin Diesel reprising the title role.

There are rumors that the story of "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" revolves around two teams of tough guys who will go against each other. One of the bad guys Diesel's character will face off against will be played by Russian actor Andrey Ivchenko, Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Sources also told Variety that the character to be played by Toni Colette is a bureaucrat in the intelligence service. The actress received a nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role from the 2000 Academy Awards for her role in "The Sixth Sense."
When it comes to diversity, the casting of “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” is commendable. Aside from a mix of black and white actors, there are three Asian actors in the main cast, who are Jet Li, Tony Jaa and Deepika Padukone.

It appears that Diesel is taking his title role seriously. He has been training hard recently to make sure even his physique meets the requirement of the role.

The “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" star is not all work, no play. He still finds time to relax with Caruso, who is reportedly planning to film in Toronto and the Dominican Republic, and at the end of the day, he just calls the Xander zone magic.
