With the launch of the new operating system by Google, which is the Android Wear 2.0, LG is taking advantage of this opportunity to release two new smartwatches under their brand. The LG Watch Sport and the LG Watch Style is expected to come out around February.

In an article published by Apple Insider, these new LG smartwatches will now have a Digital Crown, which is the same technology that Apple Watch is known for. Google's new os for smartwatches will soon roll out to other wearables.

Watch-making is a tedious endeavor and the traditional way to do it involves a complication in order to deliver more than just the hours and minutes in a watch. There is no difference when it comes to applying this system or technology in smartwatches. These third-party complications are what most industry people are looking forward to as a huge progress that Android Wear has for all its wearables.

According to Forbes, this new software update by Google is about to create a lot of wearables this year and LG is just one of the companies who is making an early announcement now. This update is arguably the most important update in the world of Android Wear since it started a couple of years ago.

Among the features of the new LG smartwatches will include a lot of standalone apps. This means that such apps could run even without having to tether them to the smartphone itself. This is what happened since Google started deleting Data Layer APIs.

This is a good thing because it would make the device more efficient and functional, especially when users try to pair their smartwatch with their smartphones. Such feature used to be limited to Android users but not anymore because of this update. Stay tuned for more news regarding its features, as soon the products are released next month.
