Rebel Wilson is confirmed to be working with Anne Hathaway for the remake of the 1988 movie, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." The 36-year-old actress will also produce the said project along with Roger Birnbaum, who is known for his work in "The Magnificent Seven."

In an article published by Entertainment Weekly, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" was a hit when it was released in the late 80s, as it starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine. This time, Hathaway and Wilson will play the role of two very competitive scam artists whose target is to con a gullible tech genius in order to get all his wealth.

Both will be cunning and manipulative with their characters and at the same time really hilarious. Wilson made her breakthrough performance doing comedy in "Pitch Perfect" followed by "How To Be Single." This new film is expected to bring out more of her humor, especially working with Hathaway who is not exactly new in doing comedy, as well since she has experienced working with Steve Carrell for "Get Smart." Wilson will also be back reprising her character, as Fat Amy, in "Pitch Perfect 3."

Meanwhile, the "Les Miserables" star is also busy with other upcoming films like "Ocean's Eight" that is due for release next year. Hathaway will be working with Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett for the said project.

As for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and its official release date, there is still no news regarding that department according to The Guardian. The plot will be slightly different from the original since it is going to be played by two women this time. However, the concept was quite the same since it involves the characters being swindlers.

Jac Schaeffer is the man behind the screenplay for this remake. Coincidentally, he is also the writer for "The Shower," another movie that Hathaway will soon be releasing as well.
