Rebecca Eri Ray Vaughan is a TV personality in Japan who is better known as Becky. She is popular and has always maintained a clean image, but her fame and success crumbled down instantly after she was reported to be having an affair with a married singer.

Vaughan is allegedly dating Enon Kawatani, the vocalist of the Japanese band Gesu no Kiwami Otome. The singer secretly got married in summer 2015 and he met the half British, half Japanese entertainer a few months after, in October 2015.

The scandal which involved the pair first appeared on Japanese tabloid Shukan Bunshun on Jan. 6. The paper claimed to have found messages on LINE messaging app, where the singer supposedly said he would like to marry Vaughan if he can divorce his wife.

Moreover, the couple was said to have spent Christmas eve and New Year's Day together. Vaughan reportedly went to Nagasaki to celebrate New Year with Kawatani and his family. On the other hand, pictures of the couple while they were at Hotel New Otani Makuhari on Christmas eve have been published in various tabloids.

The Gesu no Kiwami Otome band had a performance on Music Station Super Live on Dec. 25, 2015, and Vaughan showed up before the performance. She and Kawatami then had a date at DisneySea which is close by. When they returned to the hotel, the entertainer allegedly stayed overnight, Girls Channel has learned.

By the time the scandal broke out, the vocalist announced he is married. Then again, before admitting his marriage, he once told the media that his wife was just a friend and so is Vaughan.

Now, it appears that Vaughan was the most affected in this scandal, and her career is really going downhill at this point.

According to Japan Today, her agency Sun Music Production Corp. revealed that she has 10 ad commercials; however, since the controversy started, the companies are stepping forward one by one to say that they would like to replace the "Mask 2" star. For ad contracts that are expiring on Jan. 31, the companies stated that they do not want to renew it anymore.

Until last year, Vaughan never had any scandals so she was well-loved for her cheery and positive image. Her good persona made her the most sought after TV personality and brand endorser in Japan.

Meanwhile, knowing that the public would condemn her soon, she held a press conference on Jan. 7. In tears, she apologized for a fault which she did not directly specified.

Although Vaughan's career has been deeply tainted, her management believe it is still too early to say if everything is really over for her. This is because, the "Romance ga Ariamaru" singer still has to address the controversies, and depending on what Kawatani will say, Vaughan still has a chance to be redeemed.
