Preview

Golden State is still on top of the Western Conference with their latest five-game winning streak after an overtime loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 6.

Their most recent game was on Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Warriors came out with a lopsided 121-100 victory at their home court of Oracle Arena, as per SF Gate.

It was Kevin Durant's second game against his former club and the former league MVP shone once again for Golden State, finishing with 40 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.

Stephen Curry backed him up with 24 points, four rebounds, eight assists, and three steals while Klay Thompson had 14 points, four boards, and three assists. Draymond Green contributed 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.

David West is unavailable for the Warriors in this game versus the Rockets with a non-displaced fracture in his left thumb suffered during the game versus the Thunder.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have been mercurial in their last five games with two wins and three losses. The team has remained in the third spot in the West despite the losses, three games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers and one-and-a-half games behind the San Antonio Spurs.

Houston routed the Milwaukee Bucks, 111-92, last Wednesday also at the Toyota Center with another big game from James Harden, ESPN reported.

Harden led his squad with 38 points on 14-for-25 shooting with six rebounds, eight assists, and two blocks while Montrezl Harrell and Patrick Beverley both scoring 12 points apiece. Harrell also had eight boards, four assists, and five blocks while Beverley added nine rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks.

Off the bench, Eric Gordon fired 25 points, shooting 7-for-17 from beyond the arc, and grabbed four rebounds.

Ryan Anderson is out for Houston with an illness.

Prediction

The Warriors are deadly on the road with a 16-3 record while the Rockets are excellent at home with a 17-4 slate. It would be a highly-entertaining game with Golden State prevailing.
