Fans of the popular mobile game "Pokemon GO" rejoiced when the new update v0.53.1 came in. With the update, players got their Apple Watch updated to display Eggs taken from PokeStops. GPS drifst are also accounted for much better with the new and better distance tracking. As always, Niantic did not miss out on the minor text fixes, which seems to be a staple of most updates. But just like with other updates, dataminers showed players that there is more to the new "Pokemon GO" update than meets the eye.

Dataminers unveil plenty of new additions to 'Pokemon GO'

Just like other updates, dataminers looked through the APK files of the newest "Pokemon GO" update to see more than what fans know at the moment. The dataminers from The Silph Road did a thorough sweep of the codes provided in the update and found several hints of more Gen 2 Pokemon arriving. Aside from that, the datamined game code also showed five new evolutionary items, new moves, more options for customizing avatars and more.

New Gen 2 Pokemon additions

In other news, Polygon mentioned that the five evolution items unveiled in the datamine are Dragon Scale, King's Rock, Metal Coat, Sun Stone and Up-Grade. All of the items made its debut in "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon Silver." These items also correspond to evolving first-generation Pokemon. For starters, Dragon Scale evolves Seadra into Kingdra. King's Rock is used to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed and Slowpoke to become Slowking. Metal Coat helps evolve Onix to become Steelix and Scyther to Scizor.

The Sun Stone evolves Gloom to Bellossom and Up-Grade to evolve Porygon to Porygon2. There is also a new Pokemon form that will likely debut with the update: Unowns. From the datamined game code, the new Pokemon is found to have various forms, which will likely make it as one of the most complex Poke monsters in the game.

New Quick and Charge moves

Players of "Pokemon GO" will also be glad to know that 38 new moves - both for Quick and Charge moves - have been added into the game. Some of the Quick Moves added are Charge Beam, Volt Switch, Astonish, Fire Spin and Air Slash. For Charge Moves, players can use Close Combat, Dynamic Punch, Heavy Slam, Aurora Beam, Mirror Coat and more.

More tweaks and options for 'Pokemon GO' players

On top of all those additions, the datamined game code also revealed more customization options for players' avatars like belt, glasses and necklace. The Gyms interaction radii were also given some minor tweaks to make it better. A new system has been introduced as well to help debug costume, form, gender, shiny and species. As many as these new additions are at the moment, the exact date is still unknown when all these things will make it into the main game of "Pokemon GO."
