"Harvest Moon" creator Yasuhiro Wada is back--this time, with an entire new world in his pocket. The first entry in a series, "Birthdays the Beginning" is a new intriguing video game for PC and PS4 that allows players to build blocky worlds that spawns life forms. Here, players nurture and develop ecosystems, much like they do on "Harvest Moon" games, only on a much larger scale.

Intrigued? Here's everything there is to know about the new world of "Birthdays the Beginning," and what the game posits to offer its players.

What 'Birthdays the Beginning' is all about

As mentioned earlier, "Birthdays the Beginning" is all about creating and nurturing ecosystems to produce lifeforms. The main premise here is that players can control geography and temperature as they guide life through the evolutionary stages--from single-celled organisms to complex ones like flora and fauna, according to VG 24/7.

The same report also stated that environments in "Birthdays the Beginning" range from forests to islands to mountains and beyond, and are explorable via macro and micro mode as players observe the evolution of their life forms. Like the popular video game "No Man's Sky," no two worlds here are exactly similar.

Key features of 'Birthdays the Beginnings'

Some of the key features in "Birthdays the Beginnings" include the ability to create any world players can imagine. This include being able to make mountains and forests, or even explore the wonders of undersea ecosystems. Another is the ability to manipulate the conditions of life to spawn desired lifeforms and watch them as they grow from single-celled organism to creatures like dinosaurs and whales, according to Gematsu.

What follows for 'Birthdays the Beginning'

In a Dualshockers report, creator Yasuhiro Wada said that after completing story mode, players can still continue nurturing the ecosystems that they've built in "Birthdays the Beginning." However, he did warn that because players can assume a God-like role over the game, they can also create dire circumstances like an Ice Age to exterminate all living things in their created worlds.

"Birthdays the Beginning" will be available on May 9 on the PS4 and PC.
