The Google Android One phones are rumored to be launched in America this year itself and Google may choose to partner with LG as manufacturers for the device.

Rumors of a Google Android One phone for America has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. However, after the problems that the predecessors of this model faced in India, Google seems to be careful to take care of issues even before they arise.

For instance, the smartphone maker will have greater control over these new Android one phones. Avoiding third party associations will ensure that the RAM is not blocked unnecessarily and the processor remains fast.

A bit more expensive

Google Android One phones will be the latest addition in the affordable smartphone category. The phone was originally introduced in India but was not very well-received. In fact, the experience in India is what motivated Google to lay down extensive guidelines to make cheaper smartphones that were actually good, as reported on ars TECHNICA.

Android One program made its debut in 2014. The first models in this category were priced around USD 100 which rose to USD 200 in the second generation models. Now the latest one that are likely to be introduced in the American markets will be priced around USD 300.

As of now it is still not clear as to who will Google collaborate with for these new phones but LG seems to be high on the priority list. After all, Google is already collaborating with them for the new line of smart watches that it is set to launch this year.

There is a possibility that Google will choose to launch the new smart phones in the middle of this year itself, Techno Buffalo reported.

A grand return

When it comes to the affordable yet good smartphone category, the customers do not have many choices. Previously Google had the Nexus line which it has now discontinued to focus on Pixel. Even Motorola's affordable smart phone models have not been doing so well after the sector was taken over by Lenovo.

The smart phones by OnePlus use to fall in this category. However, their latest model is priced at a massive 439 USD making it slightly expensive and may be out of the affordable segment for many
