"Mirror Mirror" actress Julia Roberts has signed on to star in TV adaptation of Maria Semple's bestseller "Today Will Be Different." She will also executive produce.

According to TV Line, Roberts will play Eleanor Flood in "Today Will Be Different." She is a woman expecting to live the best day of her life as she wakes up. However, she has to temper those expectations when strange events intervene.

"Today Will Be Different" is based on Semple's New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, which was released last fall. The TV series centers on a day in the life of Flood who is admittedly a bit of a mess as she decides that today is the day to tackle the little things that she has been neglecting. Of course, life gets in the way of success as a fake-sick son, errant husband, and a former colleague with a bomb-dropping memoir derail her modest plan, Variety reported.

Semple will be penning the script of "Today Will Be Different." Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is producing. Roberts will executive produce through her Red Om Films banner along with Semple, "American Hustle" producer Megan Ellison, and "Outcast" producer Sue Naegle.

"Today Will Be Different" is described as a hilarious and heart-filled story about reinvention, sisterhood, and how sometimes it takes facing our former selves to truly begin living. The series is taking place over the course of one day.

For Roberts, "Today Will Be Different" marks the first regular TV role. It becomes the latest hot project to hit the marketplace with her star power.

Roberts is most known for her iconic roles in romance comedy "Pretty Woman," biography drama "Erin Brockovich" and most recently, a small yet lucrative role in comedy drama "Mother's Day." She starred in the HBO television movie "The Normal Heart." She is represented by CAA.

No network has signed on yet to air the adaptation "Today Will Be Different." However, a bidding war is sure to ensue.
