Rick Cosnett recently confirmed his return as Eddie Thawne in "The Flash" Season 3. Details about his appearance remain unknown, although fans speculate he might be Savitar.

The midseason of "The Flash" Season 3 will see Eddie alive and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is responsible. He created Flashpoint, which changed events in the timeline. Naturally, this means Iris West's (Candice Patton) former deceased fiancé is very much alive.

However, the question is will Eddie be the same person that Team Flash knew before he died? Fans by now are aware that Flashpoint changed not just events but also the people. Caitlyn is now Killer Frost and Wally West is Kid Flash. Will Eddie still be a good cop or possibly return as a villain in "The Flash" Season 3?

A fan named JBB1986 wrote on Reddit that perhaps "The Flash" Season 3 would follow Eddie's comicbook storyline. In the DC comics, Eddie died with the Cobalt Blue talisman around his neck. The talisman has the ability to absorb powers.

Meanwhile, Savitar has the Philosopher's Stone, which sucks the powers of any speedster. Likewise, the manner of their disappearance is similar. Eddie and Savitar were both sucked into the speed force. This could supposedly lead to the possibility that the cop comes back in The Flash" Season 3 as the villain Savitar. However, this is just a theory since both The CW and Rick Cosnett have remained mum about Eddie's return.

Cosnett confirmed he will be back to the series on Twitter. According to TV Line, he returns to "The Flash" Season 3 along with Robbie Amell, who played Ronnie aka Firestorm.

The last time fans saw Eddie alive was in the Season 1 finale. He killed himself when he realized that if he dies, the Reverse-Flash also dies. Since then fans have been wondering if Eddie will be in "The Flash" Season 3, especially since Barry created Flashpoint in the Season 2 Finale.
