By the looks if it, LG G6 already has a release date. In a new teaser video from LG, the Seoul-based company announced that a new smartphone is set to launch in February 2017. Will it be the anticipated follow-up to LG G5 that was released last February at the Mobile World Congress 2016?

LG asked their target market, the millennial, about their wish list for the ideal smartphone in a new promotional clip. Most of the respondents answered that they want a smartphone that has a bigger screen, is waterproof, and capable enough to do a lot of multitasking.

Consumers wanted a big screen that has a smaller body. LG did not elaborate what they meant with "Capture it all at once!" but it likely refers to the camera. Based on the wish list from consumers, the smartphone will be "reliable." The rumored specs include Snapdragon 830 chip, Google's Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and wireless charging.

If that mystery phone refers to LG G6 then it will definitely feature a waterproof design with a display size that is perfect for its target market. The teaser video was released shortly after LG announced its new QHD+18:9 5.7in display. It will reportedly be used for the LG G6.

More than the design itself, LG G6 appears to have a basic safety feature. LG Electronics' mobile communication operation group rep Lee Seok-jong told The Korea Herald that they will significantly improve the safety of their new flagship smartphones. They came to this decision after more consumers seek safe smartphones nowadays.

The LG G6 will use heat pipes that are made of copper. It will serve as a cooling device that can reduce temperature by six to 10 percent by dispersing internal heat. This kind of technology is quite common among laptops and PCs.

According to Trusted Reviews, the G6 serves as LG's best opportunity to tackle Samsung, its biggest competitor after LG G5 landed to a lukewarm reception last year. It can be recalled that the Samsung Galaxy S7 was released in March 2016, just a month since LG released its G5. It has received positive reviews from consumers as it combined the best features of S5 and S6.
