When "Pokemon GO" first released in July 2016, it was so massive that the whole world came to play it. Since then, things have died down bit by bit. Although there are still millions of players who enjoy the mobile game, its popularity is no longer the same as it was. Now Niantic is asking: what kind of "Pokemon GO" events do players want to see in 2017?

Niantic expresses their thanks to 'Pokemon GO' players

On their official Facebook account, Niantic expressed their thanks to trainers, which is how "Pokemon GO" players are called, for their participation in making their "in-game events a success." The post also asked players what kind of events they wish to see on the hit mobile game this 2017. The game's developer has rolled out special events for the last four holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Every holiday event has been specific with providing players with holiday-themed items and even affected spawn rates among Pokemon.

Trainers have spoken about the things they want to see on the next events

Among the top comments said that incorporating events with regional Pokemon migrating to fill players' Pokedex more would be great. One comment also expressed the appreciation of more doubles in XP, stardust and candies. Spicing things up with daily and weekly challenges are also mentioned as a good addition. Some also commented about having minor text fixes, adjusting the tracking and improving the battle system.

Things that must evolve in 'Pokemon GO'

A while back, Forbes listed down eight ways how "Pokemon GO" can get better. Just like with the comments on Niantic's Facebook page, making distance tracking and battling much better is high on the list of priorities. Unleashing all of Gen 2 is also said to be the biggest update to the game if it ever happens. The presence of more legendary events will also be a turning point for the popular mobile game. Also, the addition of non-playable character might help make the game a little different than it is now. Of course, new items are the lifeblood of any event and its one more thing that "Pokemon GO" players are looking forward to.
