"Supergirl" villain Parasite is confirmed to return on episode 13 of Season 2.
Parasite is a global warming activist who had been infected by an alien parasite. The character is played by tv veteran William Mapother and made its debut in Season 2 where he temporarily drained J'onn and Kara of their powers. In Season 2 episode 6 titled "Changing," the look of the character has been revealed, Screen Rant reported.
For the uninitiated, Parasite pertains to several fictional supervillains that appear in "Superman" comic books stories under DC. The character has the ability to absorb energy, knowledge and superpowers by touching another being.
When Parasite temporarily disabled Kara and J'onn from their saving the day duties, Winn and James' secret vigilante project called in Guardian, a new hero to step up in their absence. Kara has yet to find out about James' new identity but it has been confirmed that she will eventually, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"I think that James was right to not tell her...He pretty accurately guessed her reaction to it, but what I think is interesting is while her reaction is explosive, it's also one of out of concern and love. She loves James and Winn and when she does find out, she's worried for her friends' safety," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said.
Elsewhere, rumor has it that Season 2 of Episode 13 could potentially be a musical crossover between "Supergirl" and "The Flash." In one episode reportedly directed by Joss Whedon, both heroes will reportedly battle supervillain Music Meister.
Actor Neil Patrick Harris who voiced Music Meister on "Batman" was asked whether he'd been tapped for the role but he denied it. Executive Greg Berlanti confirmed that this is the case.
"We haven't gone about casting it yet, but it's the right question, though," he said.
