Shocking movie goers in horror movies is nothing new. But the upcoming movie from France "Raw" is taking it up a notch as the film is gaining in notoriety for causing people to faint on its screening.

Mazing A Buzz at TIFF

French film "Raw" created an uncanny buzz during the Toronto International Film Festival. According to Uproxx, an ambulance was called during the screening of the film because two patrons deemed the film "too much" and medical help was needed.

"Raw" is a unique horror film because it blends different genres and packs them all as a horror film. It's basically a coming of age flick because it focuses on Justine - a brilliant student who follows her family's footsteps as a veterinarian. Justine somehow ends up in a school hazing ceremony and one of the rituals is to taste meat and triggers something different that's not going to be pretty.

The film's description is basically an unfolding of something scary. But the trailer reveals that Justine doesn't just become someone different out of the blue. The school backdrop also features Justine going through a relationship and everyone is just having fun with parties along the way.

Not the First Time

Initial reports about the fainting spells in the movie's screening were just a stunt but the director reveals that this is not the first time according to the director. Vulture reports of the director's experience in Paris where one of her friends actually fainted during the screening. Of course, director Julia Ducournau don't want people to faint in her movies and she actually apologized to her friend.

Because of the people's reaction of the film, it's going to be one of the most talked about movies. The trailer alone can give anyone a shudder because of its theme and a brilliant parting shot.

"Raw" will screen in select theaters on March 10.
