The new "Baywatch" movie has finally released its official trailer online, Jan. 9. The movie adaptation of the hit 90s series now stars Dwayne "The Rock Johnson" along with Zac Efron.

In the movie, Johnson will play the role of Mitch Buchannon, a character that David Hasselhoff was known for. Efron will take the character of a rookie lifeguard. According to Comic Book, the plot involves the two uncovering a crime that would eventually harm the Bay's future.

As for the trailer, it is filled with comedy although the storyline sounds serious. Critics are saying that this movie doesn't seem to take itself seriously and having The Rock take his character seriously makes it even funnier.

This new edition of Baywatch is star-studded when it comes to its creators and producers. Seth Gordon, the man behind the success of films like Horrible Bosses and Identity Theft is the director of this movie. The writers include Damian Shannon, Mark Swift, and Barry Schwartz.

Meanwhile, Collider said that the new "Baywatch" trailer fallls under the category of being "Not Safe For Work" or NSFW. Some cuss words were uttered by the main characters, specifically the "F" word, which means the movie is completely uncensored. The trailer also shows that although it is comedy in nature, viewers are reminded that it is still R-rated.

Moreover, fans could expect a lot of action since the trailer itself has kind of gave that away. "Baywatch" has the reputation for showing more body of their characters more than anything else, it would appear that it going to be different this time.

Fans could expect more action and comedy than what they were used to watch back in the 90s when it was still a TV series. "Baywatch" is expected to hit the silver screen on May 26, 2017.
