Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy TV series on ABS-CBN in the Philippines titled "Dolce Amore." The upcoming series will replace "Pangako Sa'yo" starring Vietnam's 2016 Face of the Year Award's Best Foreign Actor and Best Foreign Actress winners Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, "Dolce Amore" stars Soberano as a wealthy lady named Serena and Gil as a poor Filipino man named Tenten. Their story starts in Bologna, Italy, where Serena lives with her adoptive family, the Pellegrini family, before moving to Manila, Italian publication Il Resto del Carlino has learned.

While she was raised wealthy, Serena wants nothing but a simple life and is willing to leave the life of a princess that she had. Tenten, on the other hand, is willing to do anything to help his struggling family.

It is yet to be revealed whether or not Serena and Tenten are biracial like Soberano and Gil. Soberano is Filipino-American while Gil is Spanish-Filipino.

Soberano and Gil will also be joined by biracial actors Cherie Gil and Mateo Guidicelli playing supporting characters Luciana and Giancarlo, respectively. Cherie is of Filipino, Spanish and Swiss German descent while Guidicelli is Italian-Filipino.

Set to premiere on Feb. 15 on ABS-CBN in the Philippines and on The Filipino Channel worldwide, "Dolce Amore" was filmed both in Italy and in the Philippines. Also in the supporting cast of "Dolce Amore" are Rio Locsin, Sunshine Cruz, Edgar Mortiz, Frenchie Dy, Andrew E and Filipino-Italian filmmaker and actor Ruben Maria Soriquez.

"I was the one who started taping in Italy and he started here about last week in Tondo and then I started taping here in Manila just yesterday," ABS-CBN quoted Soberano as saying on Jan. 14. She was referring to Enrique, her fellow "Dolce Amore" main cast member.

"Dolce Amore" is the second TV show that stars Soberano and Enrique after the 2014 Philippine romantic-comedy series "Forevermore," which was also directed by Garcia-Molina. In 2015, the two also starred in the romantic drama films "Just the Way You Are" and "Everyday I Love You."
