With just three episodes left, "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" continues to dominate the 22:00 time slot of Mondays and Tuesday in terms of viewership ratings.
Korea Herald reported "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" recorded a viewership rating of 25.1 for its 17th episode aired on Jan. 3. Nielsen Korea revealed the results a day after the "Moment of Truth" episode broadcasted.
The SBS drama was followed by "Hwarang" with 8 percent viewership ratings, while "Night Light" settled on the third spot with 4.7 percent.
"Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" started airing on Nov 7, and is expected to conclude on Jan. 16. The medical drama features Han Suk Kyu who takes the role of a surgeon named Boo Yong Joo.
The notable actor shares the small screen with Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin for the SBS drama series. According to YIBADA, the on-screen chemistry of the two actors has been well-received by the audience; hence, the popularity of "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim."
Reports added the appeal of Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin's team-up blossomed in 14th and 15 episodes of "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim," where they started to become closer.
The episode 14 of the SBS drama also featured an intimate scene where Yoo Yeon Seok confessed his love to Seo Hyun Jin. On top of that, they had their first kiss scene which lasted for a minute.
After being honest with their feelings, the two had to pretend there is nothing going on between them in front of their colleagues. In the episode 15 of "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim," Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin acted like they were fighting to avoid suspicion.
However, their colleague Im Won Hee figured out that the two were just faking it. Despite the efforts to cover-up their relationship, Yoo Yeon Seok suddenly slipped the words "I love you," raising speculations from their colleagues.
