There has never been a better time to be a comic book fan with television and movies teeming with superheroes of all-time. Here is a recap of what we think were the best superhero moments of the year: [Note: This list is not ranked]

1.     Giant-Man, Spider-Man and Black Panther in "Captain America: Civil War." The much-awaited third installment of the "Captain America" franchise did not disappoint. The movie did not just shy away from a casting an entire ensemble of live-action superheroes, it also introduced some scene-stealing new members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Case in point: Ant-Man (played by Paul Rudd) who can now surprisingly transform as Giant-Man, Spider-Man (played by Tom Hiddleston) who had the comedic chops in his scenes with Anthony Mckee's Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier. The fight scene at the airport where all of the heroes duked it out is one for the books.

2.     "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" Ghost Rider (played by Gabriel Luna). As if the montage of Daisy Johnson using her seismic powers to fly wasn't impressive enough. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" brought the Ghost Rider into the fold with some strong CGI.

The television incarnation of the iconic comic book character was Robbie Reyes, a multidimensional character literally and figuratively. "AoS" did a great job of bringing the character to life despite skipping the origin story of the character.

3.     "Deadpool" opening credits. In a string of superhero films with underlying connections, "Deadpool" is an anomaly. Not only was its titular character self-aware, its comedic chops was in prominent display when it poked fun on its own genre in the opening credits that appeared on screen.

4.     "Doctor Strange" meets Thor. "Doctor Strange" officially introduced the world of magic and multi dimensions in MCU films. Strange becoming the Ancient One and saving the world from Dormammu were among its highlights aside from its mind-bending visuals. However, the real icing on the cake was on the after credits where he is seen speaking with "Thor."

5.     Wonder Woman in "Batman v. Superman." Amid poor reviews, the treat in "Batman v. Superman" was seeing Gal Gadot steal the screen as Wonder Woman. Not only does she save the titular characters multiple times, she also did the heavy lifting in the final battle.

6.     "Arrowverse" crossover in "Legends of Tomorrow." The epic team up of heroes in the CW is one for the books. The series did a good job in giving everyone their fair share of time to shine amid the Dominators' invasion.

7.     Flashpoint in "The Flash." Arguably the best DC tv show right now, the "Flash" gets some brownie points for bringing another comic book element into its plot with the introduction of Multiverses that is made up of an infinite number of Earths to beef up its narrative.

8.     The Punisher in "Daredevil" Season 2. Known for raising the bar in terms of action sequences involving superheroes in small screens, "Daredevil" did not fall short on its second season. Arguably the best and most chilling moment in the season was when Wilson Fisk sets an angry bunch of inmates who all turn up dead after fighting Frank Castle (The Punisher). While the prison brawl scene did not hold back on violence, it is fittingly one of the best choreographed scenes in Marvel tv.
