It appearead that 2016 has been one heck for former "Running Man" cast Gary as he looked back and shared his thoughts of the year in an Instagram post.
According to Allkpop, the rapper took to his Instragram account on Dec. 23 to share a photo of a lighted Christmas tree. While there was nothing extraordinary about the photo, netizens were struck with Gary's caption of the post.
The former "Running Man" cast wrote, "Make a wish #economicrecession #risinginterestrates #lowbirthrate #demographiccliff #agingpopulation #selfemploymentslump #continuousbadnews #overcomethewind Don't trust anyone. Men are blind in their own causes."
Many of his plans speculate the caption, particularly the hashtags, describe Gary's journey in 2016. It can be remembered that Leessang was accused of kicking out one of their tenants in a Sinsa-dong building.
Despite the allegations, the court ruled in favor of the hip-hop duo. Also in this year, Gary made a decision to leave "Running Man" after almost seven years. The variety show announced his departure on Oct. 25, stating the rapper's choice to focus on his music career as the reason for the exit.
Gary's departure from "Running Man" was followed by Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook's controversial exit from the program. Reports claimed the two were informed about the decision at the last minute, giving them no time to absorb the unfortunate news.
On a positive note, Gary was listed as one of the top 15 Korean hip-hop and R&B artists of 2016, Soompi cited. The agency noted the rapper's song "Lonely Night" which reportedly charted for 21 weeks.
The Leessang member even released a Chinese version of the song and has recorded his first OST song intended for drama series "Entertainer." After his decision to focus on being a musician, Gary is expected to produce new songs next year.
