YouTube reveals most-watched K-Pop videos and most-subscribed channels in 2016

Before the year ends, YouTube has released its year-end list of most-watched K-Pop videos and channels with largest growth in subscriptions in 2016.

According to Allkpop, the video streaming site listed 10 K-Pop music videos with the most number of views. Singer-rapper Psy dominated the ranking with his "DADDY" MV. The hit song, which was released on Nov. 30, 2015, featured CL of 2NE1. At the time of writing, Psy's music video has almost 220 million views on YouTube.

The "Gangnam Style" artist was followed by TWICE's "Cheer Up" with over 112 million views after it was released on Apr. 24. The colorful and cheery video was trailed by "Fire" by BTS with 88 million views within eight months.

Sitting at the fourth spot was EXO with "Monster" MV which earned 87 million YouTube views after being released on June 8, while TWICE's Halloween-themed "TT" landed on the fifth spot; however, the views for the girl group's MV rose to 88 million, surpassing EXO's "Monster."

On the other hand, BLACKPINK earned the sixth spot for their song "BOOMBAYAH" with about 81 million views. The rising girl group was followed by "Blood Sweat and Tears" by BTS having almost 70 million views.

BLACKPINK took their second spot on the list with "WHISTLE" at number seven with over 64 million views. The YG girl group was trailed by "Save Me" by BTS and "Lotto" by EXO with 57 million and 46 million views, respectively.

Meanwhile, 1MILLION Dance Studio led the top 20 most-subscribed YouTube channels this year. Aside from the dance cover channel, SM Town, 1theK, Big Hit Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and BLACKPINK earned their spots on the year-end YouTube list.

Last year, YouTube also released the same year-end list where EXO's "Call Me Baby" topped with almost 42 million views, followed by BIGBANG who took three spots for hit songs "Loser," "Bae Bae," and "Bang Bang Bang" as per Soompi.

Other videos which earned their spots on the top 10 most-watched videos in 2015 were "Crazy" by 4Minute, "Only You" by Miss A, "Catch Me If You Can" by Girls' Generation, "Ice Cream Cake" by Red Velvet, "Ah Yeah" by EXID and "Who's Your Mama" by Park Jin Young.
