'K-Pop Star 6': Filipino-America teen wows judges; Yang Hyun Suk wants to sign her

Filipino-American teenager Crisha Choo wowed the judges on the singing survival program "K-POP Star 6: The Last Chance." The young talent particularly caught the attention of YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun Suk, who declared that Choo is on her way to become the next big superstar.

Crisha Choo, has convinced Yang Hyun Suk that she has what it takes to be a big star, so much so that it made the YG Entertainment CEO want to sign her immediately. "I wanted to take her from day 1, but now I want to meet up with her CEO," Yang said, as quoted by Koreaboo.

Choo also received praise from JYP Entertainment's Park Jin Young who commented, "She's like a real star when she sings and dances, she shines." The 17-year-old Filipino teen didn't end up winning the competition, but it's possible she could strike a record deal given the positive praises she received from the judges.

When she adution for "K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance," she performed "I Don't Love You" by Urban Zakapa. For her second audition piece she danced to Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend.

According to The Philippine Daily Inquirer, Crisha Choo is just her stage name. Her real name is Kriesha Tiu. She is a trainee under Urban Works ENT, a talent agency in South Korea.

She hails from Cebu City, Philippines. She was scouted by Urban Works ENT when she was living in San Francisco, California. She later moved to South Korea with her mother and brother where she learned the Korean language and trained under the agency.

"K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance" is the show's final season. For this year, they welcomed trainees that are signed under different agencies. The winner of the competition will be signed by one of the three agencies that the judges represent.
