Marvel is on a roll and the studio is not showing any sign of stopping anytime soon with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

After releasing the teaser trailer for the film, hype erupted all over social media. In fact, it is now the second most watched MCU teaser trailer of all time within the first 24 hours, Screen Rant reported.

If you are one of those fans who are looking forward to see these galactic heroes for the second time around, here's a list of what you need to know:

1.     Star-Lord a.ka. Peter Quill and the gang are back with new allies.  Get ready to see Rocket, Drax, Gomora and Baby Groot in uniform because this time, they will not be outlaws. Michael Rooker's Yondu Odonta is will join the eclectic crew with new comer Pom Klementeiff's Mantis who appeared in the last part of the teaser trailer for the film.

2.     Star-Lord will finally meet his father. This arc will likely be the focal point of the second instalment. In an interview, director James Gunn said, "We get to learn a lot more about fathers in the second movie, [So] we focus a lot on that."

Peter Quill's father, Ego the Living Planet has been confirmed to appear in the film to be played by Kurt Russell, Comic Book reported. In the comic books, the character is literally a planet with a face. How he'll be portrayed in the film is a huge and exciting question among comic book fans.

3.     Sibling rivalry continues. In the first installment, the film introduced Gomora and Nebula as the daughters of Thanos who were trained to be assassins. While Gomora went to betray his surrogate father and joined the Guardians, Nebula stayed behind.

Recently, actress Zoe Zaldana confirmed that Karen Gillan will be back to play Nebula who will be more resentful and bitter than ever.

4.     The movie is set two months before the events of Captain America: Civil War. Do not get your MCU timelines messed up. It has been confirmed that the events of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be two months after the events of the first movie. Since "Civil War" came out way after the first "GoG" film, it is safe to say that the second instalment precedes the clash between the Avengers.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be released on May 5, 2017. Watch the teaser trailer below:
