A recent interview with Michael Pachter, who's known to be one of the more controversial voices in the video game industry, has shed more details and possibilities for upcoming releases. These include the new console releases for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo as well as other upcoming games.

One of the topics he talked about was Virtual Reality (VR) and if it could affect the gaming industry moving forward. He mentions that VR gaming will probably be profitable for Sony with the integration of the PlayStation VR (PSVR) with the PlayStation 4. It also comes at a cheaper price which will be the advantage for Sony.

Pachter then goes on to mention that a lot of people will look to invest in the PS4 Pro mainly because of its better Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). In that regard, the PS4 Pro feels like a transition console to the PlayStation 5 so that the old software won't become obsolete. He also comments that Sony investing in Hideo Kojima and the latest game "Death Stranding" is a safe bet because of Kojima's success, despite his notoriety for taking long times for development.

Aside from these, Michael also mentions how Rockstar is good at marketing their games, and how successful previous games have been, especially the "Grand Theft Auto" series. While "Red Dead Redemption 2" has not been announced for the PC, he feels like an announcement will come in later much like with what they did with "Grand Theft Auto V". Not much details have been revealed about the newest Rockstar game but it looks to have a larger open world than its predecessor. The protagonist of the first game may also appear in it according to rumors.

Pachter also mentioned that since a lot of fans like Rockstar games, most of their projects are likely to be in development. These include "Max Payne", "Grand Theft Auto", "Midnight Club", "LA Noire", and "Agent". With a year before the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release, it looks that more details will be revealed in the coming months.
