South Korean actor Shin Sung Rok has officially entered the gate of fatherhood as his wife has recently given birth to their first child.

In a statement released by a representative from the actor’s camp, it was revealed that Shin’s spouse gave birth to a baby girl on November 29. Furthermore, they had also assured that both the mother and the child are in a very good condition.

"Shin Sung Rok became a dad today. His wife gave birth to a daughter at a hospital in Seoul. The mother and child are both healthy," the representative stated as quoted by All KPop.

Shin and his non-celebrity wife got married in June this year at a private wedding ceremony attended by their close friends and family in Hawaii. The announcement of their wedding was revealed by the actor’s talent management agency HB Entertainment in May.

Meanwhile, Shin was among the cast members in the recently finished Wednesday-Thursday drama “On the Way to the Airport” which was aired on KBS 2TV. Joining him in the said show are Korea’s premiere actors Lee Sang Yoon, Kim Ha Neul, Jang Hee Jin, and Choi Yeo Jin.

According to a report by All Kpop, Shin portrayed the role of a pilot who is married to a flight attendant named Choi Soo Ah which is portrayed by Kim. Lee, on the other hand, plays the role of the part-time instructor named Seo Do Woo while Jang acts as his wife in the drama series.

Before entering the world of entertainment, Shin has already joined several acting events in high school. In 2003, he made his debut in the industry and appeared on the TV drama series “A Problem at My Younger Brother's House”.

Aside from his TV and movie projects, the Korean star has also starred in several musical plays. This includes the “Dracula”, “Hamlet”, and “Elisabeth”.
