A day after YG Entertainment's announcement of Nam Tea Hyun's departure from the label and WINNER, the idol has spoken up to address the matter to his fans.

According to Allkpop, the former WINNER member took to his Instagram account to apologize to his fans for the decision to leave the boy group and YG Entertainment. "Hello. This is Nam Tae Hyun. I'm sorry to have such disappointing news
for everyone who's loved me," Nam started the post.

The idol admitted a lot of things happened to him, emphasizing that he is grateful to be part of WINNER. Nam added both parties went through long discussions before they have come up with his departure.

However, Nam said his departure from WINNER will not be the end of his music career. "We came to this decision after a long meeting, but I haven't changed my mind about doing good music. I'll return with good music and projects," he added.

The former WINNER member ended his post with a thoughtful message to his fans, thanking them for their support and asking them to stay healthy.

On Friday, YG Entertainment announced two bad news to their fans: 2NE1's disbandment and Nam's departure from WINNER. According to Soompi, Nam's contract with the label ended on Nov. 18.

The label added the other members of WINNER want the best for Nam, especially for his health. Further reports revealed Nam has been suffering from mental health issues even before he joined the boy group.

"It's difficult to say when he will recover and return because it's a psychological issue he has dealt with since he was young," YG Entertainment said, adding that the boy group does not plan to add new member as a replacement of Nam.

Get well soon, Nam Tae Hyun! Good luck in your journey!
