ABC has officially pulled the plug on "Conviction" starring MCU actress Hayley Atwell. Atwell previously starred in a stand-alone MCU tv show "Agent Carter."

"Conviction" will not go beyond episode 13. Initially, the studio wanted the series have 22 episodes per season, Deadline reported.

All hope is not lost however because ABC is keeping its options open for a sophomore season and keeping the options on the cast. The cancellation of "Conviction" leave "Agent Carter" fans hopeful that Atwell will come back to don the character.

In the wake of "Agent Carter" cancellation after two seasons, fans of the show petitioned Netflix to bring the series back. Additionally, those who have been involved in the show showed willingness and enthusiasm for its revival including Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb.

For her part, Atwell had been vocal about wanting to reprise the character again if given the chance. Her co-star Dominic Cooper who played the younger version of Howard Stark in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Agent Carter" also said the same thing.

"I'm well up for doing more Howard Stark and I know they're up for doing more of their characters, so fingers crossed," he said, Comic Book Resources reported.

Ofcourse none of the "Agent Carter" revival talks have been confirmed by ABC. However, if the studio wants to move on a different direction, fans suggest getting a special TV episode instead to close out the series.

"Conviction" continues with "StayWoke" on November 14 on ABC.
