Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach vs Ariadna Gutierrez: Q&A before Steve Harvey interview

By Conan Altatis | Jan 19, 2016 08:06 PM EST

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach and first runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez answered a series of questions before their respective interviews with Steve Harvey. The interviews will be aired separately on Tulsa's Channel, first on Jan. 18, Monday, with the Filipino beauty queen then on Jan. 19, Tuesday, with the Colombian beauty queen.

Wurtzbach and Gutierrez had similar answers to the pre-interview questions. They both described their respective countries as beautiful and revealed that the first person they texted after the Miss Universe 2015 beauty pageant was their respective mother.

Both Wurtzbach and Gutierrez said competing in a beauty pageant is more difficult than modelling. According to Gutierrez, it is typical for girls to learn to walk in high heels at the age of five in Colombia while Wurtzbach said she first learned to walk in 5- 6-inch high heels when she was 22.

On the other hand, Wurtzbach believes that the text on Harvey's card during the Miss Universe 2015 winner announcement was too small but Gutierrez thinks otherwise. According to Wurtzbach, it takes her about an hour to put on her beauty pageant face while Miss Colombia said it only takes her half an hour.

When asked about whose pageant dress they wanted to steal, Gutierrez said it would be Miss Lebanon Cynthia Samuel's. For Wurtzbach, it would be that of Miss Thailand Aniporn Chalermburanawong, who rode a tuk-tuk, the inspiration of her Best National Costume dress, in her home country on Dec. 27, 2015, Bangkok Post reported.

The Miss Universe 2015 contestant Gutierrez said she was closest to was Miss Argentina Claudia Barrionuevo. According to Wurtzbach, she is currently closest to Miss USA Olivia Jordan but she was closest to Miss China Yun Fang Xue, Miss Myanmar May Barani Thaw and Miss Malaysia Vanessa Tevi Kumares during the pageant.

Before his one-on-one interviews with Wurtzbach and Gutierrez, Harvey teamed up with Eminem's "That's All She Wrote" collaborator Clifford Joseph Harris, who is professionally known as T.I., in a philanthropic activity.

Harvey and T.I. gave a struggling single mother and a brand new car and $15K towards rent from apartments.com. To help get her family back in the same house, they also gave her  $10K Green Dot Reloadable Prepaid Visa Card, Rolling Out reported.

The two-part special episode of the "Steve Harvey Show" featuring Harvey's interviews with Wurtzbach and Gutierrez is titled "Miss Universe: The Truth." In a teaser, Harvey said, "I didn't do any interviews until I could talk to the two people who were affected the most, Pia and Ariadna."
