A "League of Legends (LoL)" tournament is about to commence sponsored and organized by SM Entertainment. EXO's Baekhyun and Super Junior's Heechul will be competing in the tournament with the fans.

Aside from Heechul and Baekhyun playing with fans, the artists will be joined by pro gamers Jang "MaRin" Kyung Hwan, Choi "DanDy" In Kyu, and Lee "Easyhoon" Ji Hoon for the upcoming event "2016 S.M. Super Celeb League." Soompi reported that the team will be matched against a Chinese team of five pro gamers.

Last Nov. 2, a practice game between the Korean and the Chinese teams was held. This is the first ever e-sport competition sponsored and run by SM Entertainment.

The official game will start this coming Nov. 11 through Dec. 23, and total of seven broadcast sessions. All the matches will be broadcast through the Chinese online game platform DOUYU TV. In addition, Heechul and Baekhyun will also have a special talks with the guests after each match.

"League of Legends," a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games, was inspired by the "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne mod, Defense of the Ancients." The game follows a freemium model and is supported by microtransactions.

In "LoL", players assume the role of an unseen "summoner" that controls a "champion" who has unique abilities and battle against a team of other players or computer-controlled champions. According to New Player Guide, the goal of the game is to destroy the opposing team's "nexus," a structure which lies at the heart of a base protected by a defensive edifice.

In July 2012, "LoL" became the most played PC game in North America and Europe in terms of the number of hours played. As of January 2014, over 67 million played "LoL" per month, 27 million per day, and over 7.5 million during peak hours.
