"Deadpool" is hit yet again by another curve ball as it loses director Tim Miller at the helm for its sequel. Miller reportedly had creative disagreements with lead star Ryan Reynolds over the future of the franchise.
Reynolds together with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick reportedly wants to make a "scrappy" and inexpensive film. Apparently, the plan is in conflict with Miller's vision of a more visually extravagant sequel, The Wrap reported.
Shortly after the report came out, Steven Weintraub of Collider posted on Twitter that the allegation is false. Given these conflicting claims, the only thing certain at this point is that Reynolds and the original film writers will be returning.

Miller's overall vision for "Deadpool 2" involves exploring the place of the Merc with a mouth within the "X-Men" universe. The plan reportedly involves other familiar Mutant characters in the comic books. In contrast, Reynolds reportedly wants to focus on the raunchy comedy and self-awareness sensibilities that was prevalent in the original film, Screen Rant reported.
Apparently, Reynolds and Miller's partnership came to blows with disagreements over who should play the role of Cable for the sequel. Fox reportedly passed on Miller's version that would cost 3 times as much as the original film.
So far, the studio has not commented on the root cause of Miller's departure from the R-rated superhero franchise. Nonetheless, the search party for Miller's replacement has officially begun.
"Deadpool 2" is originally slated for release sometime in August 2018 but do not be surprised if the film will be released on a later date.
