With video games evolving in gameplay, graphics, and even storytelling, what's stopping them from being turned into movies? One good example of that is Naughty Dog's "Uncharted" series, which bears a lot of cinematic elements. Talks about having a live adaptation for the big screen have sprung up since 2009. Now, after a long time of generally being silent, it looks like we'll be seeing Nathan Drake once and for all in theaters and "Stranger Things" director Shawn Levy will reportedly be helming the project.

Deadline was able confirm this, along with Joe Carnahan writing the script's most recent draft. In the meantime, Carnahan is also actually directing the upcoming Bad Boys sequel, "Bad Boys For Life." He wrote for movies such as "The A-Team," "Smokin' Aces," and "The Grey." Producers on board for the "Uncharted" movie include Charles Roven ("The Dark Knight"), Avi Arad ("Iron Man"), and Alex Gartner ("Warcraft").

Those, however, are just the only information revealed so far. Other details like what the movie will cover (whether exactly based on the game or an entirely new concept based on the game's world), the cast for the film and release dates have yet to surface.

Director Shawn Levy is also directing other movies as well such as the upcoming "Arrival," which stars Jeremy Renner ("The Avengers") and Amy Adams ("Man of Steel"). He's also eyeing on more episodes for the upcoming season of "Stranger Things." Levy also directed other movies in the past as well such as "Real Steel," "Night at the Museum," and "The Pink Panther" (the 2006 remake).

According to Gamespot, it was stated back then 2015 by Nolan North, the guy behind the voice of Nathan Drake, which fans wouldn't want a live adaptation for the movie, despite who'll be starring in it. There were numerous times that the production had the go signals, with a variety of casts and directors. Even the movie was supposed to be last year. With Sony as the distributor, it was even reported that the "Uncharted" movie was part of the Sony's leaked email.
