Meanwhile, the electronic company is currently offering an upgrade program option to their Galaxy Note 7 customers in South Korea who traded their recalled devices for a Galaxy S7. The act is their latest attempt to retain their valued customers.

On Monday, Samsung released a statement informing customers who trade in their Note 7 devices for either a flat-screen or curved-screen version of the Galaxy S7 can trade up for their upcoming Galaxy S8 or Note 8 smartphones which is set to launch next year through an upgrade program, Reuters reported. The Korean electronics company permanently ended their Note 7 sales due to continued reports of fire and explosion from the flagship device.

Aside from offering refunds and exchanges for a Galaxy S7 smartphone, Samsung also offered financial incentives worth 100,000 won ($88.21 USD) to affected customers in South Korea. Instead of paying the full amount, customers who will avail the upgrade program will only need to pay half of the price of the Galaxy S7 before exchanging to the Galaxy S8 or the Note 8.

With the current issues that the company is facing right now, it was revealed that the release of the Galaxy S8 could be pushed-back by at least two weeks. However, Samsung has not confirmed rumors about the delay of their future handsets.
