Justice League production has just wrapped up in the United Kingdom and is now shooting in Iceland. Photos of the members have been unveiled and it's now Queen Mera's turn to be acknowledged. The production released photos of Aquaman's wife, Queen of Atlantis.
Amber Heard will play the role of Queen Mera and will play a role in the DC superhero troupe although it is not yet disclosed how her presence would be integrated and how big her act will be. Looking at her costume, it has similarity to the costume of Rita Repulsa in Power Rangers. The only significant disparity is the color of Queen Mera's armor which is less bright whilst Repulsa's costume is a bright green. It is also noticeable that she doesn't need to wear a revealing wardrobe since it's very cold in Iceland and that costume might be just for this movie for she might get a different look in Aquaman's solo movie sometime in the future, according to Slash Film.
Queen Mera was a princess of Xebel's underwater kingdom. She carries improved strength, toughness, and ability to influence the water at her command. Since birth, she was trained to a special mission, that is, to slay the present King of Atlantis, Aquaman, to revenge her people. She tried her best to gain his trust and be close enough to him so she could carry out her plans but things changed as she got to know him better. She fell in love with him and stood by his side.
Super Hero Hype noted that this movie will be Heard's debut and her introduction to her main role in Aquaman's solo movie in 2018. Joining the cast are Willem Dafoe as Atlantean Vulko and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
Justice League will start the action in theaters on November 10, 2017. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder who also directed 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
