"Overwatch Open" to end soon as the two best teams fron North America and Europe will face-off in the next week finals. During preliminary rounds, competing teams exhibited variety of strategies to deploy in the new esports game. The grand finals will be broadcast live Friday on Twitch and TBS.
The eLeague competition "Overwatch Open" will end soon and the international competition is in its final week. In the North America final, Team EnVyUS defeated Fnatic and Misfits won the European final 3-2 in a tight game against Rogue on Thursday, Sept. 29, as reported by Mashable.
In the first map, Misfits won in the "King's Row" and Rogue tied up 1-1 in the second map. Rogue took the lead 2-1 in the third map, "Route 66," and Misfits tied the score in a winning on the fourth one. In the final map "Hollywood" Rogue that believe he had the upper took an offensive but the Misfits played a good defense and winning the Europe finals 3-2.
Misfits will face-off EnVyUs in the grand finals on Friday night at 10 p.m. ET. The grand finals will be be broadcast live on Twitch and TBS.
During the competition, many players showed a variety of strategies, and there is no dominant strategies. In esports world, strategies anc tactics always evolve, as each strategy and tactic have their own weakness and strength. In the Europe final, Misfits who played defense on the final map was able to neutralize Reaper and Mcree, the characters who are well-known for all-out offense.
Regarding the game strategy, there is one that may become superior but does not require a
great skill, according to Kotaku. That strategy is triple tank, which utilize three tank characters and support characters such as Ana to neutralize offense characters. Reinhardt, D.Va or Roadhog who are able to take more shots than other characters is supported by Anna that provide her Biotic riffle shot to heal them.
