Bandai Namco producer and game director Katsuhiro Harada announced the new "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will not have cross platform play. One of the main concern is security risk with potential hacks and mods.

Harada said in his tweet as translated by NeoGAF that "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" do not provide cross platform play. Security risk and perception of gamer abour PC gamers are two main reason the game do not provide option to allow players with different game console to play together as reported by Game Rant..

"It's not a matter of the technology for getting the PS4/XB1/PC players to match up against each other being the issue," he tweeted. "But rather first-party company policies and potential security risks alongside the community perceived reputation of PC gamers being cheaters that is hindering the decision to allow cross platform play."

In the gamers community, PC gamers have reputation as cheaters especially among game console players, as reported by PCGamer.com. Although that does not mean all PC gamers are cheaters, but that is general perception among PS3, PS4 and Xbox gamers.

Another reason to disallow cross platform play for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is security risk. Opening cross platform play between different consoles and PC will open the door for potential mods and hacks. This type of risk usually come from PC gamers, but it can spread to other platform as well.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is the new series of "Tekken" franchise from Bandai Namco Entertainment. 'Tekken" is the world-famous fighting video game which began in 1994 as an arcade game, which was ported to PlayStation two years later. The third installment "Tekken 3" is still considered as one of the best fighting video game of all time.

Player can select any character with different fighting style and character. In all of its installment "Tekken" has four main characters and additional characters. The main characters are Yoshimitsu, Nina Williams, Paul Phoenix and Heihachi Mishima.

Yoshimitsu is a ninjutsu expert and master swordsman, Nina Williams is a female assassin with hapkido and koppojutsu fighting style, Paul Phoenix has background in kyokushin-kai, judo and kickboxing. While the main antagonist is Heihachi is with a Mishima-ryu karate fighting style.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will due out early 2017 and the game will have 32 characters that players can choose. But there is no official announcement about the list of characters yet.
