The EXO star Kai is set to kick off his acting career with a web drama tentatively titled "Choco Bank." The 21-year-old singer star will reportedly be playing the leading role in the web series.

The news came out on Jan. 11, 2016. According to the Soompi, EXO's representative confirmed that Kai will be playing the role of a male protagonist Kim Eun Haeng. It is said it will be Kai's first official acting role in a web drama.

Kai was first seen acting on the Chinese-Korean music band EXO's own web drama titled "EXO Next Door." The web drama was released in 2015. However, it is said that it will be Kai's first official acting role in a web drama where he will be playing the leading role.

"Choco Bank" is six-part web series featuring 10-minute episodes. Cheil Worldwide Inc., a marketing company under the Samsung group, will be producing the highly anticipated drama focusing on graduates aiming to become entrepreneurs. It is reported that the main theme of the much talked about show will be "financial management of business startups."

The name of Kai's character in "Choco Bank" has a significant relevance to the web drama. "Eun Haeng" means bank in Korean. In the story, Eun Haeng's father chooses this name for him because he wishes to see his son in financial abundance.

The story of the series revolves around Eun Haeng's life. He is a recently passed out college student, who is ready to enter the professional world. However, he wants a business of his own. The story traces Eun Haeng's struggles through the journey to starting a new business. It delves deeper into the "realistic concerns" of youngsters, who have just entered the workforce.

Kai is the first member of EXO to sign with S.M Entertainment after winning the 10th S.M. Youth Best Contest 2007. He is now the group's main dancer. He holds expertise in jazz and ballet dance.

This is not the first time fans will see an EXO member acting. Several members of the boy band have starred in movies and musicals, according to Kpopstarz. As noted by the website, EXO's Chanyeol is currently working on a Chinese film "So I Married an Anti-Fan."

Kai's will start filming for "Choco Bank" this month. The series is expected to go on air in February, 2016.
