MediaTek processor gives life to Sprint's newest LG X smartphones

MediaTek made quite an accomplishment as it revealed the new LG X power Android phone has a built-in MediaTek helio P10 processor. The processor will be serviceable on Boost Mobile and Sprint which make use of legacy 3G Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA), in a supplement to LTE with carrier assemblage.

The Taiwan-based chip manufacturer in next to no time will become competent will all four major US carriers. The company has made important investments in establishing and buying the technology in order to achieve complete international carrier coverage. The accomplishment places MediaTek a firm that can furnish a worldwide modern technology for phone manufacturers.

According to Forbes, there are only two significant smartphone chip firms that can provide a global modern unraveling today, namely MediaTek and Qualcomm. Intel and Samsung have not shipped a CDMA modem and are exempted from carriers that employ it including Verizon, Sprint, and China Telecom. Although Intel acquired VIA Telecom for a CDMA modem design, it was not shipped being a part of Intel modem.

"The LG X power is the first adoption of a MediaTek chipset for the Sprint network and the MediaTek helio P10 brings to our customers the power of the Sprint LTE+ network at an affordable price point," said Ryan Sullivan, Sprint's Vice President of Product Development.

MediaTek may not have the flowing edge that Qualcomm' LTE-Advanced technology brings to mercantile but it is fast summing its capabilities and support LTE 2x20 carrier accumulation on Sprint's network. The company's drawn-out entry into the US market closes a gap in their business since North America since it is one of the few important markets where the firm does not have a sizeable share in handsets.

The company has hefty shares in mainland China, India, and in other parts of the world. In the US, MediaTek is not yet known but soon it will be, as economical handsets come to commercial with conventional capabilities.

Ultimately, an LG phone powered by MediaTek helio P10 processor sells for just $129 on Boost Mobile which makes it inexpensive. The company does not only make mainstream processors, the Helio processor series encompass high-end processors with up to 10 CPU cores (Deca-core) with the helio X20 and helio X25, the Android Police reported.

The X power phone has 16GB of internal storage but can be extended using a microSD card. The device has a 13-megapixel rear camera and located in front is an 8-megapixel camera perfect for selfies and video chats. The best feature of the phone is its battery that can last for days. The phone will also be available in Sprint for $9 a month for a year starting Sept. 23.
