EXO member Lay is set to go back to his motherland to make his solo debut. This announcement was revealed by the artist’s talent management agency SM Entertainment on Sept. 21.

According to the agency, Lay is getting ready for his upcoming solo debut in China that will come with an album, All Kpop reported. However, the release date of the EP has not been finalized yet.

Because of his approaching breakthrough, Lay will be the first member of EXO to go in for a solo career. In May this year, he released a digital single titled “Monodrama” through SM Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Lay together with his fellow EXO members has been recently invited as the first guest in the premiere episode of MBC’s brand new variety program “Star Show 360,” All Kpop reported. During the show, the group were thrown several questions, performed some songs, and interacted with the audience.

In one part of the program, Lay confessed that he loves touching butts. His pal Suho confirmed his uncanny habit and admitted that he really wonders why his friend always pokes their butts.

To defend himself, Lay answered: "It's because I like you guys, and I want to joke around”

Born as Zhang Yixing, Lay was born and raised in the province of Hunan in China. He started his career in the entertainment industry at a young age after winning in a competition organized by the TV show “Star Academy” in 2005.

In 2012, he joined the boy group EXO alongside Tao, Luhan, Baekhyun, Kris, Suho, Sehun, Kai, Xiumin, D.O. and Chanyeol. He was the sixth member of the group to be introduced to the public.
