Some Filipino cops are not happy about the recent episode of the ABS-CBN scripted show "On the Wings of Love." In the episode that aired on Jan. 11, Monday, Clark (James Reid) stripped in a police uniform while his soon-to-be wife Leah (Nadine Lustre) was watching.

According to the angered police officers, it is not appropriate to use the police uniform as attire for male strippers. They believe that the particular scene between the lead stars of "OTWOL" degraded their image as policemen.

"One word, disrespectful," a police officer who refused to be named told Inquirer. The police officer added that they work hard just so they can wear their uniform and they are proud of wearing it.

The publication also quoted another policeman as saying that the Philippine National Police top management should not tolerate TV shows featuring characters strip-teasing while in a police uniform, such as that of Reid in "OTWOL" on ABS-CBN.

It must be noted, however, that ABS-CBN is the same network that airs "Ang Probinsiyano," which is currently the top TV show in the Philippines. The lead character in the top-rating scripted show is Cardo (Coco Martin), a highly respectable policeman.

It appears that these policemen who are not happy about Reid's strip-tease scene on "OTWOL" have not watched the 2012 comedy drama film "Magic Mike," which has a scene featuring male strippers in police uniform. The Hollywood film was never met with controversies or complaints from cops because of that scene.

This is simply because "Magic Mike" did not, in any way, do anything to disrespect the police uniform in the eyes of American cops. It is just a movie after all and it is not illegal for male strippers to wear a police uniform as a costume in the United States.

Filmed in Los Angeles, California, and Tampa, Florida, "Magic Mike" was loosely based on the real-life experiences of Channing Tatum. When he was 18, Tatum worked as a stripper in Tampa, Florida.

In 2015, Tatum reprised his role as Mike in "Magic Mike XXL" along with Sofia Vergara's husband Joe Manganiello and Lady Gaga's "American Horror Story: Hotel" co-star Matt Bomer, who recently revealed to Men's Fitness that he has been handling guns since he was a kid.
