Heather Donahue, who starred in the original "Blair Witch Project," admits that the sequel of "Blair Witch" is scarier than the original. She also shares the horror she had to face after the success of the first movie.

Donahue gives thumbs up to director Adam Wingard and screenwriter Simon Barrett for creating a scarier movie than the 1999 "Blair Witch Project," Entertainment Weekly reported.

She admits in her article in The Guardian that some horror rekindled as she watched "Blair Witch." It is said that when she starred in "Blair Witch Project," she and other co-stars must acted as if they did not act because the movie was made to be as realistic as possible.

"Williams, Leonard and I did such a convincing job with our acting, improvising, and shooting, " she wrote.

The original writer of "Blair Witch Project" Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez was not involve in the "Blair Witch." Although they wrote and produced the movie "Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadow" in 2000, but it was not considered as sequel because "Book of Shadow" was an anthology of  "Blair Witch Project."

"Book of Shadow" did not perform well in the market, compared to "Blair Witch Project." "Book of Shadow" only made $74.4 million, while "Blair Witch Peoject" made a great success grossing $248.6 million in the box-office.

"Blair Witch" is regarded as the sequel of  "Blair Witch Project" because it continues the story of Donahue. Her brother, James, played by James Allen McCune, finds the video of her who was disappeared while filming the legend Blair Witch with her two friends. She was lost in the woods around Burkittsville, Maryland.

James follows her sister's investigation with his friends Peter Jones (Brandon Scott), Ashley Bennett (Corbin Reid) and Lisa Arlington (Callie Hernandez). From then, he finds what kind of horror his sister and two friends encountered.

"Blair Witch" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 11 and it released theatrically on Sept. 16.
