The next "Wolverine" movie is on its way with new conflicts and surprises. Based on the post-credits scene of "X-Men: Apocalypse," the way has been paved for an upcoming new villain, a big baddie from the Marvel universe, Mister Sinister.

As mentioned, Singer stated that the last movie's post credits revealed a scene where uniformed professionals were surveying the area in Akali Lake where the incident happened. As they gathered DNA samples through biological evidences like blood, they carefully placed them in briefcases labeled Essex Corp.

Basing it on the comic books, the said corporation is headed by Nathaniel Essex, later known as Mister Sinister. Director Bryan Singer even hinted the confirmed the villain's arrival for "Wolverine 3" in a video commentary, according to Cinema Blend.

The Wrap further explained the origins of the notorious Marvel villain. Nathaniel Essex was a scientist who discovered the genetic process that bestowed the mutants their unique abilities. Upon further researching, Essex went beyond standard ethics and begun conducting atrocious experiments on his subjects.

Despite him being exiled for it, Essex, now known as Mister Sinister, persisted in his research on mutants and even mutated himself to gain their powers in the process. He was even capable of creating his own brand of mutants through experimentations.

The villain's powers include super strength and telekinesis, but he may also have a wide range of abilities as well through the borrowed/stolen genes of other mutants.

Initially, there were many actors in queue for the role of Mister Sinister, such as "Narcos" star Boyd Holbrook. But eventually, more news popped up claiming that actor Richard E. Grant will don the garb of the evil mad genius.

In other news, this will be the last time that actor Hugh Jackman will wear mantle of Wolverine.

"Wolverine 3" is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2017
