"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" star Ben Barnes joins Netflix's latest Marvel spinoff "The Punisher" as series regular. Frank Castle, meet thy enemy?

According to TV Line, the English actor Barnes will be opposite Jon Bernthal's titular vigilante (aka the Punisher). His character information is sketchy. A Netflix representative declines to comment further. Rumors suggest that Barnes will play as antagonist Bobby Saint. This character is the corrupt crime prodigy played by "Person of Interest" actor James Carpinello in "Punisher" film directed by Jonathan Hensleigh back in 2004.

"The Punisher" marks the sixth Marvel series that Netflix supported, following "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," the upcoming "Luke Cage," and the in-the-works "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders." It was unofficially greenlit back in January. It was pulled by Netflix one month after the Bernthal's gun-toting antihero "Daredevil" Season 2.

In addition to Marvel's "The Punisher," Barnes will soon appear as Logan in HBO's highly anticipated series "Westworld," IGN reported. A new trailer for that upcoming HBO series was recently revealed. He appeared as Caspian in "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" (2008) and "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" (2010). His TV credits also include playing Sam Adams in the 2015 History miniseries "Sons of Liberty."

"The Punisher" Bernthal is expected to co-star in "The Accountant" opposite of "Batman" star Ben Affleck, J.K. Simmons, and Anna Kendrick. He has recently signed on for director Jamie Dagg's "Sweet Virginia" alongside Imogen Poots, Christopher Abbott, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Odessa Young. He recently took part in "Baby Driver" in Atlanta with Edgar Wright directing. He also starred in AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead."

Netflix's new "The Punisher" series is currently in development, as the company seeks to ramp up its output of Marvel-based television shows going forward. "Hannibal" scribe Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.
